Jennifer married Anthony Gutwein on June 10th of this year. Anthony is an IR in Fishers and has been with Jones since September of 2002. Jennifer is originally from Phoenix, Arizona and comes to Indiana by way of the University of Notre Dame where she received her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She met her future husband (who graduated from Purdue) at a Notre Dame-Purdue game in 2004. Jennifer went on to get a Masters in Medical Science and is currently a Physician’s Assistant at Cottage Corner, a clinic affiliated with Wishard. When I asked Jennifer what her dream job was, she said it was to be a medical missionary in a third-world country. She has already spent several months in Honduras working at an orphanage. Of course, it helps that Jennifer also speaks Spanish.
When Jennifer has some free time, she likes to hang out with family and friends, and she also enjoys reading. Jennifer had a hard time thinking of her “favorite” book, but she enjoys serious books (with very long titles). She highly recommended two: “The Curious Incident of the Dog in Night-Time” and “The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair that Changed America” (see, I wasn’t kidding about the titles).
Jennifer’s favorite movie is “Life is Beautiful” (also very serious) but her taste in music is very diverse. She enjoys country, classical and contemporary jazz (Norah Jones). Jennifer’s favorite restaurant, unfortunately, is in Phoenix. But her favorite food is pizza, especially unusual ones. Let’s hope she finds a new favorite here in Indy!
When I asked Jennifer what was the best part of being a Jones spouse, she mentioned several things. She thinks that the Jones folks are fun and easy-going which makes work-related functions a lot more fun. She also appreciates Anthony’s flexible schedule and since she likes to travel, Jennifer is looking forward to more diversification trips, especially Europe. The hardest part of being married to an IR, according to Jennifer (and no doubt others), is dealing with the ups and downs of each month. All in all, a very accurate summary of the Jones life - lots of benefits, but not without occasional challenges.
I hope you will all welcome me in wishing Jennifer and Anthony a wonderful life together, and please be sure to introduce yourself to Jennifer at our next get-together!
